Meet The Faculty

Brother Grant and Sister Grant

Brother Grant

Institute Director

Carter and Wendy Grant have 6
children (3 boys and 3 girls). I
graduated from Carbon High School. I
met my wife through the Price Institute
just before serving a mission in New
Zealand. We were afterwards married
in the Salt Lake Temple.
I feel so blessed to have been
involved every day in the lives of the
youth and young single adults for 25
years.

I love playing the guitar, woodworking,
the outdoors, and yard and garden
work. I love the restored gospel and
know of its reality and eternal truth.

Wood Family

Brother Wood

Institute Teacher

Dan and Wendy Wood met in Price while going to college and sat next to each other at Friday
Forum. They have been married for
18 years and in Seminaries and
Institutes for 16 years.

They love it here.  They
have 5 children ages 15-3.
The gospel of Jesus Christ has given
perspective and enhanced every part
of their lives.

They are excited to be part of your adventure here.

Sister and Brother Wright

Sister Wright

Institute Secratary

Sister Wright has worked at the
Price Institute for 4 years. She
graduated from Price Institute
many years ago and is a
CEU/BYU graduate. Terry and
Susan met and were sealed in
2019 and have 12 children
combined. “I love getting to
know our amazing youth today.”

Here at the institute we have a small terrific staff with a vast wealth of knowledge on gospel topics.

What is Insititute?

The institutes of religion program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides religious education for young adults ages 18 to 30. With a worldwide enrollment of more than 350,000 students in almost 2,700 locations, there is an institute of religion near you. Institute provides an opportunity for students to strengthen their commitment to Jesus Christ and conduct a comprehensive study of the scriptures and words of modern-day prophets. Institute students may find guidance and direction from the Holy Ghost. This guidance can help them make important life decisions as students learn together and strengthen one another.

Who can attend?

All young adults ages 18 to 30 are encouraged to attend and graduate from institute. Young adults who have already graduated are welcome to continue to attend as it meets their situation and needs.

How do I participate/register?

There are a few simple ways to locate the institute program nearest you:

  • Just walk into an institute building. A friendly face or two will welcome you and tell you about the classes being taught and the activities that are planned.

  • Click here to find a list of classes near you. Click on any class to view information about it as well as that institute program’s website. Click “Register Now” to register for a class online. After logging in with your LDS Account, you’ll see a list of classes and be able to register for the one that interests you.

  • Ask your local priesthood leaders—they can help you find a local institute program or class.

Is institute only on campus?

Although many institute buildings are adjacent to college campuses, in some areas institute classes are taught in campus classrooms, ward buildings, homes, or office buildings.

Why should I graduate from institute?

By actively participating in and graduating from institute, young adults will strengthen their testimonies of Jesus Christ, increase their scripture study skills, learn from others and through the Spirit, and be better prepared for their futures. The institute experience is the next step of the journey that students embarked on in seminary, and graduation is the culmination of this institute experience. After graduating from institute, students are still welcome to attend institute classes.

What are the graduation requirements?

It’s simple; just complete 14 credits of institute credit requirements:

▪ Attend 75% of all classes

▪ Complete 75% of assigned readings (marked online)

▪ Complete a learning experience (class will have details)
